About Me
I have been in private practice for more than a decade and have also worked at many community mental health agencies during my career as a clinical social worker. In my community work, I worked at schools, with children and transition-aged youth, their parents and with individual adults.
The focus of my private practice is with adults or older adolescents. I have had extensive experience with individuals coping with persistent mental illness. In addition to the individual work, I work with families who are wanting support as they navigate the challenges, relationships and practical concerns they have when a family member has significant mental health issues.
My clinical approach is relational and client-centered. Over the years I have worked with many people coping with complex trauma and this experience and the specific needs of trauma inform my work. I have a deep respect for a person’s individual and cultural experiences. I work collaboratively with a strong belief that a person has a sense of where they need to go but need time to figure it out, a safe place to work through trauma and loss, developmental or family issues and support or guidance to find the right tools to achieve the best life possible.
